I am a frequent participant in a Christian chat network (www.Christian-Chat.net) where I typically chat under the nickname Erastus. Once per week on Thursday nights we have a Bible study. We often have people 'present' in the study from all over the globe.
Tonight, a study was given by my friend Shield, who spoke about the foundation of the church, Jesus being the 'Chief Cornerstone', and the foundation upon which we, with the apostles and prophets are being grown and joined together into a spiritual structure for the Lord to use and indwell.
It always strikes me that we are to be one 'structure' or body, but that we are separated by thousands of miles, even the diameter of the planet. It is so distinctive and powerful to me that though we are so physically far apart, we who share a belief in Jesus as our Savior and Lord can be so spiritually together, united in prayer and study, with a oneness of heart and purpose, for the glory of His name. What a gift!
