I would like to recommend that you pay a visit to http://thecooperscorner.blogspot.com/ That's a new blog that describes "Cooper's Corner." It's an interactive bicycle and safety exhibit that is being built to educate kids about the "rules of the road." It's geared for kids through about 12 years of age, and I think it will be very effective.

The exhibit derives its name from one Cooper Jones, a precious 12 year old boy who lost his life in a traffic accident in 1997. His parents have taken what happened to their beloved son and helped turn it into a legacy that may possibly affect positively the lives of many other families.

This community outreach program is a very worthwhile endeavor, and makes learning fun for the kids, and as parents are required to take their children through the exhibit, they may stand to learn something valuable too. It would probably be a very worthwhile group activity and trip for churches to make together. This particular "Cooper's Corner," now under construction, is being based on the prototype built in Spokane, WA.

If you are interested in possibly seeing a "Cooper's Corner" in your area, contact the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission or go to www.wtsc.wa.gov
