I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, "One Night With the King." I've heard good things about it. The Book of Esther is a book that gives a description of the Jewish people who remained behind in Persia after having been freed (and commanded by God) to return to their homeland. It's a description of their disobedience to God in that matter, but it shows God's providential care of His chosen people, in spite of the fact that, (as we all are) they were being their own worst enemies.

Some people are disturbed by the fact that the name of God is not mentioned in this book, (which may characteristically make it a most unusual Bible Book) but for me personally, I know His presence in my life and I suspect that Esther and Mordecai did too. They may not have been model saints, but then neither am I. I do think they were pretty cool though, and I think their story can speak to people's hearts.

Judging by the look of the special effects and set construction, the movie doesn't look cheap. I wouldn't just march to a movie like this if it looked poorly done, and I think it's important to support these types of films. With the emergence of "torture films" and the ever more graphic horror genre, not to mention the proliferation of movies that are simply in poor taste, we have no excuse, if we want to see more appealing films, not to vote with our pocketbooks for the ones we'd like to see more of.
