My wife and I enjoyed a really nice day yesterday. The weather was a bit of a surprise as it was about ten degrees cooler than we expected with a breeze that kept us from frying. (laughing here) We ran into one family member at the art show and several friends, a couple of which I hadn't seen for several years. It was nice to catch up with them. One was even in town from about seven states away.

We relaxed and spent a good portion of the day just doing whatever we pleased, eating, reading, writing, watching people and just enjoying ourselves. We didn't end up going to the theatre to see any movies because we were pretty sticky after running around in the heat. Instead we picked up some DVDs and came home for a welcome shower.

Today we will spend time relaxing again and I will have the opportunity to let my body catch up with my work. It's nice to have these kinds of weekends as they're few and far between. Once again I can praise God for all of it and thank Him for the gift of life in His Son.
