I'm breaking back into the habit of getting up earlier to pray in the morning. My job has been pretty physically challenging for the last couple of months and I've needed more rest to keep up but I've always been a 'night' person so I've been reluctant to go to sleep early enough to wake up earlier.
That has steadily changed over the last few days and I already see a difference in the way my day progresses and the subtle change in my attitude toward the day as well, for the better.
I had also let my personal workouts suffer somewhat as well, convincing myself that I was getting enough exercise at work. While it's true that I often walk as much as 7 or 8 to as much as 15 miles a day at work and do a lot of lifting, it isn't the same as, nor do I achieve the same results as when I perform regular 20 to 60 minute workouts (depending on what I'm trying to do.)
Although it's a bit of a strain to do the workouts while my job is likely to peak physically and sustain that level for the next 2 to 3 months, it will be worth the effort. How much more so, the worth of the extra time in prayer.
