I helped my neighbor Jesus tonight after work. We've had a lot of windy days lately and a thirty foot tree in his yard had shifted and was leaning precariously toward his 5' wooden fence. I offered yesterday to help tonight, and when I got home we tackled it together.
Jesus has absolutely no experience with a chainsaw or felling trees, so I went up the ladder and began to whittle away at as many of the upper branches as I could until we were both confident that I could drop the largest part of the tree in the 6' corridor between his fence and his satellite dish.
Since I'm no professional lumberjack either, I was a little nervous, but I had prayed before, during and gave thanks after the tree landed right where it was supposed to. (Laughing here) My neighbor Jesus was pleased and even though he doesn't speak a lot of English and I don't speak a lot of Spanish we managed to communicate without grunts and clicks.
It's always pleasing to be able to work well with somebody who is interested and motivated to cooperate and help you get to a mutual goal.
I honestly hope that there will be times in my life that the Holy Spirit will find me pleasing to work through, me being motivated to work toward whatever goal and in whatever direction He wants me to.
