Had a great class this evening. The guys had a great time and worked the stick drills very, very well. They are really coming into their own now. They're starting to pick up on things more quickly, at their differing levels of skill and speed.
Conceptually, they are gathering the ability to make their thinking second nature and that enhances the speed of their movements. In other words, I show them how to do something, like a simple movement to disarm their attacker (me), and they are able to pick it up pretty quickly and work off of that information and grow out of it and learn other ways of accomplishing the same thing, often in ways that are more comfortable for them.
It's often that way when we're sharing from our hearts with others about Jesus. We start out possibly a little nervous about it, and occasionally very nervous about it. As time and exposure to people over the years blends with a little maturity, we begin to get further out of the way and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us as we should. We become more comfortable with our own experience and start to share more freely with others as we are led.
In sharing Jesus, just as in the martial arts, it's good to practice, practice, practice.
