I got about a thousand dishes back today at work. Dirty. Yay. There are benefits to doing the dishes at work. The kitchen is warm, while outside it's about 16 degrees, so I'm not complaining. One of the other guys came in to say that it was cold outside and that maybe he would like to be able to be in the warm kitchen. I looked around (being the foreman that I am) and told him that I had not placed any restriction on his being in the kitchen to do dishes at any time, and that there was plenty in there for him to wash. There are trays, dishes, flatware, fountains, glasses, a hot dog cooker, chafing dishes..........You get the picture. He turned and vacated without another word and found something else to do, in the cold.
Guys just don't like to do dishes. I don't know what the big deal is. "That's women's work." I'm not sure that there is more than one or two guys I've ever worked with, who hasn't verbalized that to me in one form or another. Well I got news for ya.

2 Kings 21:1313 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.KJV

"As a man wipeth a dish!" There it is! And for any whose husbands are King James only readers, show this to your husbands. Hee hee. What's the big deal about dishes anyway? I mean shouldn't we be happy to remove the filth from them, so that the food we prepare can be put on a clean plate? Think about how gross it is when we're given a dirty plate or utensil at a restaurant. You ask for a replacement, right? Hmmm, maybe restaurant workers don't like doing dishes either. But none of us should really mind.

Col 3:2323 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;KJV

I don't think that verse excludes dishes-----men. :)

lol. I am a man and I do my own dishes. Grudgingly, yes. But like you said, who wants to eat off of unsanitary dishes and utensils? I use plastic plates and cups. That makes it less likely for them to break. I used to be a disher in the restaurant business for several years. My approach today remains the same. Get it done quickly and move on to the next thing. :)
